A voice for the classics
Classical music is a language meant to be shared. Kai De has been speaking it on stage since the age of nine.
- Esplanade at eleven
First solo recital at the Esplanade Recital Studio, with a second full programme there in 2016.

Silver Prize in Tokyo, Honourable Mention in the USA, and Mozart with orchestra in Costa Rica.
- One of 99
The only Singaporean among 99 pianists admitted to Ettlingen 2018, from 340 applicants across 49 nations.
Kai De performs regularly in Singapore and Southeast Asia, from Victoria Concert Hall to the National Museum of Singapore. He earned the LRSM diploma with Distinction at fourteen and trained at LASALLE College of the Arts under Steinway Artist Benjamin Loh, and earlier with the late Ong Lip Tat. Since 2022 he has built a private studio of students from seven to over sixty, alongside more than five years as an accompanist for violinists, singers and choirs.

Aged 11, at the Esplanade Recital Studio, followed by a recital in Malaysia.

One of five finalists, Intermediate Piano, National Piano & Violin Competition, Singapore.

Licentiate diploma at 14; invited to the ABRSM South and East Asia Diploma Awards. Steinway All-Star Concert, National Museum.

Silver Prize, Tokyo
7th All Japan Junior Piano Concours. Summer at the John Perry Academy, California. Second Esplanade recital.
- 2017
Concerto in Costa Rica
Mozart K. 467 with orchestra under Alejandro Gutiérrez at the Costa Rica Piano Festival. First prize (own claim).

Ettlingen, Germany
Only Singaporean admitted to the International Competition for Young Pianists, Category B.

Diploma in Music under Benjamin Loh; performer in every Piano Voyage concert since 2017.

- Where are lessons held?
- In Singapore. Message Kai De with your location and he will suggest the best arrangement; online lessons can be arranged for theory and students overseas.
- How long is a lesson?
- Typically 45 or 60 minutes weekly. Longer sessions are available for diploma and competition students.
- Do you take complete beginners?
- Yes. Many of Kai De’s students started with him at the very first note.
